The chord progression I created for this Sound Clip makes me feel relaxed, happy, and hopeful. It makes me feel like I've made peace with the past and I am moving on and will never look back.
This sound clip is named Thunder because of the rumble it make at the middle of each bar in the Rhythm. This is actually part two of one of my other sound clips called "Third (B) Progression".
What inspired this sound clip was a simple chord I created that sounded very calm and relaxed. The rest of the chords flowed out naturally creating a song that reminds me of being on a sandy beach doing nothing but relaxing without a care in the world.
This clip was started by me exploring major 7th chords as opposed to common open chords, which do not have the tension filled 7th notes. The seventh chords sounded better played slowly, in my opinion, so I naturally made this clip very slow and clean. I thought the piano played over top of the 7th chords would sound beautiful, so I created a melody. This clip is unlike anything I've ever recorded in the past.
This sound clip I've written has been inspired solely by one chord that I first heard from the intro of the song "Castles Made of Sand" by Jimi Hendrix. This chord is the Gsus2 Chord.
I truly envy the audience. I would pay just about anything for the chance to go back in time and witness this man's genius and guitar skills. Jimi, however, dismissed this song as something "tossed off in the studio for the TV cameras." (Jimi Hendrix tab book transcribed by Andy Aledort)
